Genus of evergreen shrubs and of small trees that feature glossy leaves and bell-shaped flowers in spring, as well as bird-attracting fruits.
They grow in acid or neutral, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soils, in sunny and partly shaded sites.
Propagated by semi-woody cuttings in summer and autumn.
Latin name: Arctostaphylos pajaroensis "Paradise"
