Genus of 3-5 of evergreen species, mainly shrubs and more rarely trees, native to eastern Asia. Dioecious plants, grown for their ornamental foliage and their fruits.
Latin name: Aucuba japonica "Crotonifolia"
They grow in full sun and partial shade, in moderately moist, fertile soils.
Propagate by semi-woody cuttings in summer, using mist propagation with bottom heat.
No disease problems.
