Genus of 5 to 6 species of evergreen trees and shrubs, native to America's tropical areas.
They are known as Angel's Trumpet. That name refers to the large, fragrant, pendulous, trumpet-shaped flowers, borne from spring to autumn. They are similar to Datura species, which differ from Brugmansia in being herbaceous with erect flowers.
Plant in tropical and subtropical areas, in full sun and in fertile, well-drained soils.
Plant alone, in groups and flowerpots. Propagated by semi-woody cuttings in summer.
