Buxus (box tree) is a genus of very slow-growing, evergreen shrubs and more rarely small trees with orbicular or ovate, glossy and leathery leaves. Grown mainly for their decorative foliage.
They can do well in any sunny or shaded site, even in poor and relatively dry, well-drained soils.
Ideal for hedges, borders and topiary. Also used in rock gardens and flowerpots.
Easily propagated by cuttings.
