Impressive, bulbous plants, usually with green leaves. Umbrella-shaped inflorescences of exquisite, funnel-shaped, pendent flowers borne on tall, erect stems.
They grow in well-drained soils and in full sun.
Plant the bulbs in autumn, at a depth four times the size of the bulb, in well-drained soils and in sunny sites. Water regularly in spring and very sparingly after flowering.
Cultivate in groups and arrangements.
Propagated by bulblets.
