Genus containing only the species K. japonica, native to eastern Asia. Deciduous shrub with a sparse crown, green leaves and yellow flowers borne in spring and often in autumn.

It grows in light, moderately moist soils, in full sun or partial shade.
Plant alone or in groups.
Propagated by cuttings in summer.
No disease problems.
