Genus of about 40 to 50 species, native to areas around the Himalayas. Annual and perennial herbs with poppy-like flowers.
Latin name: Meconopsis cambrica
They grow in part shade, in moist but well-drained, neutral or slightly acid soils.
Propagated by seeds.
Herbaceous perennial with glaucous-green leaves and yellow-orange flowers, borne from mid-spring to mid-autumn.
